LeFlore Coalition for Healthy Living

The LeFlore County Coalition for Healthy Living is undertaking the challenge of reducing the problems of drugs and related harmful substances affecting the young people in the area.

Several committees are being formed to assess and address the most pressing needs.

You may have read about the efforts to establish Boys & Girls Clubs in this area. The coalition is concentrating efforts in four major areas: Law enforcement, Education/Prevention, Treatment, and Community Involvement. Please take a minute to visit www.cedeinc.org for more information.

Spiro area Billboard:

One way Spiro businesses can help this effort is to fund a billboard in this area. Several Businesses have pledged funds toward this effort. More than half of the cost has been raised. If you can help, please call Marcia at the Chamber office between 9:30 and Noon on Monday thru Wednesday, or email your pledge to spirocc@sbcglobal.net

 


Bottom Line: The more business we keep in our community, the more business(es) we keep in our community. In other words, we must attempt to do the majority of our shopping in Spiro. This is difficult to do, with all of the competition that surrounds our area. With this in mind, the Chamber sponsors the ‘Buy Spiro’ program. This program offers member-to-member discounts and is a great way to promote our businesses as well as save us money with the discounts offered by the participating merchants. (read more...)
